In the name of God Amen, I, James Tuley, being in perfect health and of a sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain
this my last will and testament, revoking hereby all others by me made, first recommending my soul to him that made it and my
body to be buried at the discretion of my executors herein after appointed and my just debts paid.
Item: I lend to my beloved wife Judith Tuley, all of my stock of cattle, hogs, horses, sheep, and geese and all of my household
furniture during her life. My will and desire is that if she shall see cause to dispose of any of my stock or household goods
among my children before her death my will and desire is that it be equally divided among my five last children,
Item: I give my son, John Tuley, a negro woman named Luce to him and his heirs.
Item: I give to my son, James Tuley a negro fellow named Sampson to him and his heirs.
Item: I give to my daughter Sarah New one negro girl named Mille to her andher heirs.
Item: I give my daughter Ann Martin, a negro fellow named Dick to her and her heirs.
Item: I give to my son Charles Tuley seventy-three acres of land that I bought of Thomas Morrison in Amherst County on the
waters of Rockfish River - also a negro fellow names Bristol to him and his heirs.
item: I give to my son William Tuley the land whereon I live from the upper end down velow the road to the second great rock.
Also a negro wench named Ester and all her increas thereafter born to him and his heris.
Item: I give to my son Arthur Tuley the remaining part of my land from William Tuley's lower line to the lower end, also two
negro girls to wit, Hannar and Winn to him and his heirs.
Item: I give to my daughter Elizabeth Tuley a negro wench named Dilse and all her increas hereafter born to her and her heirs.
Item: I give to my daughter Mary Tuley a negro wench named Pat to her and her heirs.
Item: I give to my daughter Judith Tuley two negro girls to wit, Eve and Anake to her and her heris.
I appoint my wife, Judith and my two sons James and William Tuley executors of this my last will and testament. My will and
desire is that my estate may not be apraised. As witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of Sept. 1779

At Albemarle May Court MDCCLXXXI (1781) . This writing purporting the last will and testament of James Tuley dec'd was proved
by the oath of John Tuley and Nath'l Watking two witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Judith
Tuley.
