Waxahachie Daily Light-Friday afternoon, April 13 1928 Funeral Held For Woman Who Died in Flames. Aged Woman is Burned to Death Near Ovilla, Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Molly Harder, age 76, who was fatally burned a t her home near Ovilla Wednesday morning, were held at the Baptist Church a t Ovilla Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Methodist Church Cemetery at Ovilla. Rev. L. A. Herrin conducted the services. Mrs. Harder was fatally burned at her home near Ovilla Wednesday mornin g about 11 o'clock. She was said to be alone at the home at the time, he r only son and his wife, who had lived with her, being absent from the ho use at the time. Neighbors saw smoke issuing from the house and rushed to investigate, finding the clothing of the aged woman in flames. The cause of the accident was not known, it was said, but it was believ ed that the aged lady, who was crippled in one limb, got too near the fire a nd her dress became ignited and she was helpless to extinguish the flames. Very little damage was done to the house. The aged woman is survived b y one son, Otis Harder and five brothers and two sisters. |
