1930 Obituary, probably from Lancaster Herald, Lancaster, Texas George Washington Tuley was born in Maury County, Tennessee, September 7 1857. He was married to Miss Addie Meeler in the seventies [1870's]. To this u nion were borned six children, 3 girls and 3 boys, one boy dying in infancy and another, whereabouts is unknown. Mr. and Mrs. Tuley became members of the Methodist Church at an early a ge. They came to Texas in the fall of 1892, settling in the Ovilla Communit y where Mrs. Tuley died May 10 1910, where Mr. Tuley lived until about 9 weeks ago, his condition becoming so serious his son moved him in the h ouse with him. After many days of suffering he passed away Friday, May 2 a t 6 pm, leaving to mourn his death, four brothers, two sisters and a number of grandchildren and relatives. He was laid to rest in Shiloh Cemetery, Sunday at 3 pm. Pallbearers we re Howard, Floyd, and Clarence Tuley, Frank Curts, Clyde West and Joe Rape . .............moved to Van Alstyne, Grayson County where Mr. Tuley becam e a member of the Christian Church. After living there five years he was married to Mrs. Louisa Owens in the spring of 1915. Mr. Tuley and his w ife came to Dallas County, Texas living threr about three miles north of Lancaster in 1926. He later moved near his son, Mr. Josh J. Tuley in t he Bear Creek Community. |
