  8. 1850 Census, Notes from the Library in Dale, Indiana. while in Indiana last week I visited Stark cemetery looking for my great uncle Tom, William Thomas Oskins, we've apparently mislaid him,, Anyhow I came across a stone for William Tuley ca 1810 - ca 1850-1860 and Rebecca Askins ca 1811 - 1875. It wasn't listed in the cemetery inscriptions done in 1987 by Sharon Patmore so it must be fairly recent. The spelling of Rebecca's last name as Askins is curious since most of the people I converse with use Oskins. It does look more and more as though the spelling from Kentucky was with an A.
