3. The 1800 tax lists of Mercer Co., Ky. shows the following: 

• Cornelius Tolley
• James Tuley
• William Tolley

WILLIAM TOLLEY was born Abt. 1755  and was a Revolutionary War Soldier, and died 1835. He married (1) ELEANOR "NELLIE" HARBISON March 01, 1783 in Lincoln County, Kentucky-Marriage Records, daughter of JAMES HARBISON and RACHEL PORTER. He married (2) ELIZABETH HAYES April 22, 1834 in Mercer County, Kentucky.<

Cornelius Tolly married Margaret Phillips on 2-21-1787 in Mercer Co., KY. The 1800 tax lists show Cornelius Tolley still in Mercer Co. but have no record of him after that.

1810 Mercer Co. census shows:

• John Tooly (26 - 44 yrs. old, wife 16 - 25 yrs., 1 boy under 10 yrs. and 1 girl under 10 yrs.) 
• William Tooley over 45 yrs. old, wife and 6 children. This is the the William Tolley in the 1800 Tax list above.
  • Was this John's father? No, not the John I was hoping for. He had a son John Tolley that is proven to be different from the John Tooly listed above.
  • Is this the same as William Tolley above? Yes this has been confirmed!
  • Does anyone know anything about him? I found out he came from North Carolina via Tennessee.

5. I've been researching a James Tuley born 1769 somewhere in Virginia and his wife is Martha ?? born 1781 somewhere in Virginia. Most of their children were born in Virginia but the last several were born somewhere in Kentucky. They arrived in Kentucky around 1814. The family moved to Franklin County, Indiana around 1827. In 1829 the family moved to Elkhart County, IN and in 1834 moved to LaPorte Co. IN. James died 2/18/1837 in LaPorte Co, In and Martha died 4/11/1851 in LaPorte Co. IN.

I've been trying to find out James's parents names and Martha's maiden name and where in Virginia and Kentucky they lived.

I assume James and Martha were married in Virginia since most of their children were born there.

They had 10 children and there names are:

• Elizabeth born about 1801 VA & died 1881 IN
• Margaret 1803 VA & died 1883 IN
• James born 1807 VA or KT & died 1855 IN
• Simon Peter born 1814 VA or KT & died 1891 IN
• William
• George Milton born 1815 KT
• Simeon Robinson born 1815 KT
• John
• *Josephine born 2/23/1819 KT & died 6/12/1861 IN
• Julianne born 6/1/1821 Garrard County KT & died 1908 Washington

Hello, I am doing my half brothers family of LEMING, and I heard from another Leming researcher that there is / was a Tuley Leming connection and a book was published that showed the family history of mainly Tuley family but did have pictures of some Leming family members. 20. I am looking for children of Charles Mint or Minton Tooley. He was born 12/24/1884 in Muhlenberg Co., Ky. I have fourteen children from his first wife Emma Jane Warman. 21. Garvin Tooley (b. around 1917) and two other boys Glen, and Guy Tooley were born to J. Craddock Tooley and Mollie Bigerstaff.
Garvin was married to Dorthy Hagan. Their child's name was Joyce C. Tooley. She was born 1/7/38 in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY. I am her husband and we are trying to find other relatives. 38. In my search, I did not find my line of Tooley's, but I can only go back with a date to 1897 in Parker Co., TX. There are no Tooley's alive in our family to ask about ancestors. The only name I have is Roy Powell Tooley b. 3.1897.  His father's name was "Dick". birth and death not known. E-Mail to: Diann Tooley (7 Mar 2000)

48.  I am looking for ancestors of Richard Henry Tooley born in NC. He married Mary Elizabeth Powell in NC. They were in Pike Cty Ga for the 1870 census.

52. Looking for info. re. Harless Tuley b. Feb. 5, 1898 and d. March 1987 in Dubois Co., IN. He married Jewel R. Baker b. Dec. 22, 1899 in IN and died August 1973 in Dubois Co., IN. They are both buried in Selvin Cemetery, Warrick Co., IN. Thanks.
