Monta and Etta Lamar got married on 3 Jan 1915 [and] set up housekeeping west of Dale [Spenser County, Indiana] on Wedeking farm. [We] lived there first year. Mr. Wedeking said our tobacco patch like old cow slim on both ends and fat in middle. The ground [was] better in the middle of the patch. Next year moved to John Goath Place. The Lord called my husband [Monta to] preach [the] Gospel. We moved to the farm where [Monta's] Uncle Moman [Scales] lived. That year a big snow come.
