Head of Tuley line. Another opinion, included because I thought it interesting, not because I believe it: The New Jersey Thomas Tuly who married Mary Scott was actually Thomas Tollet. The last "t" was silent. Similar to "Bennett," and "Benet." It is thought that this Thomas may have been the son of Marcus Tollet, a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin, and the grandson of Thomas Tollet, the musician. At the time of his death in 1714, Marcus Tollet was headmaster of the bishop's "free" school in Westminster and his widow asked for a pension. She signed her request as Eleanor Tollet, but the pension was granted to her as "Elinor Tuly." Interesting. Quite possibly, all of these families are one and the same. Sincerely ............. K. T.
