Notes
|
Uriah Lamar came to what became Spencer County in 1806 and settled on land a mile or so northeast of what is now Grandview, Indiana. After Indiana became a state, and Spencer Couny was formed, Uriah became a Justice of the Peace in September 1818. Uriah was also elected sheriff in 1822 and again in 1834. A wonderful account of Uriah and Chief Set-te-Down is included in the Sesquicentennial. Uriah is named in the will of Samuel Lamar |
