"Whereas there was a tract or dividend of land given by Lt. Col. Richard Cocke, dec'd, to his two sons, Thomas & Richard Cocke Sr" and by joint consent a division was made in the Court of Henrico County on 1 August 1667, and also there was a bargain of sale on 17 February 1667 made by Thomas Cocke to Richard Cocke Sr for getting timber from a certain tract of land, and "for as much as ye said division of land...is by both parties found unequal & unjust, & ye said...bargain of sale by them found injurious & inconvenient", on 1 October 1690, Thomas Cocke and Richard Cocke Sr agree to make the division of land and the bargain of sale "null, void & of none effect" and they agree that the said land "shall stand & be divided as it now is" (the boundaries are given here) "for ye sure and quiet enjoyment of each man's part".
