On 1 June 1687, Thomas Cocke Sr of the Parish and County of Henrico gives to his son Thomas Cocke Jr of the same parish and county, for "love & affection" 200 acres of land "being part of the tract or dividend of land at Malvern Hills in ye County aforesaid where he ye said Thomas Cocke Sen'r now lives", bounded by Turkey Island Creek and "Stephen Cocke (the second son of said Thomas Cocke Sen'r)" and John Lewis, with the exception that "Thomas Cocke Sen'r & Margaret his wife shall quietly hold & peaceably enjoy three-fourths part of ye orchard herein conveyed...during both & either of their natural lives, and after ye longest liver of them is deceased, then the said orchard wholly to revert to ye said Thomas Cocke Jun'r". |
