Notes

Fairly recent research has discovered the record of his subsequent marriage. The Parish Registe of St. Andrews Church at Colyton, County of Devon, (England) contains the following marriage entray: "1634: Jonathan Gillett and Mary Dolbear, 29 March." The bride Mary Dolbear or Dolbere, was baptized at Colyton 7 June 1607. She was the daughter of Roykey Rockye, Rokey, Rokie, Rokye or Rochee) Dolbere (or Dolbiar), yeoman, (i.e., farmer). of the hamlet of Cadhayne, in the parish of Colyton and of Mar Mitchell (or Mychell) his wife.
Evidently the couple within a very short time after their marriage, sailed for New England and Jonahan their first child was born about six months after they came to land.
